The Chinese New Year will take place on February 10, 2024. This is the first day of the first lunar month of the year.
The Dragon is the most auspicious animal of the zodiac. It represents luck, finances, prosperity, honesty, leadership, royalty, and power. It is the only mystical creature in the zodiac, so the energy has a magical element to it. Anything is possible with the luck of the Dragon, so expect the unexpected!
The Wood Element represents creation, growth, stability, expansion, and drive. It raises and retains Chi. It supports solid, fresh perspectives and new, innovative growth.
The Wood Dragon combination gives us the opportunity to tap deeper into our passions and invent new things with the motivation, strength, and grounded foundations to create upon. Yang Energy has more of a "rule with an iron fist" vibe, meaning the grit and grind will serve well. The Dragon and Wood Elements will invite peaceful resolutions to larger issues.
We will be also be entering into a new 20-year Feng Shui cycle, exiting Period 8 and entering Period 9. This 20-year cycle will complete a full 180-year cycle, totaling 9 Periods. The number 9 is auspicious and signifies completion. Old ways of doing things and old ways of thinking are coming to an end. Old systems will be falling away and new ones will be taking their place. The number 9 is associated with the Fire Element and represents fame, fortune, and passion. This Fire Energy will ignite these changes that the Wood Dragon will bring.
The last Year of the Wood Dragon was 60 years ago in 1964. Here's a recap of what happened:

Maddox in the Gulf of Tonkin. Congress passed the Tonkin Gulf Resolution (aka Asia
Resolution) which gave the President Lyndon Johnson permission to wage war on North
Vietnam.
· Nelson Mandela was sentenced to life in prison.
· Sony introduced the first VCR Home Video Recorder.
· NASA's first successful mission to reach the Moon, returning 4,316 images of the Moon
· Mariner 4 was launched and performed the first flyby of Mars, returning the first
close-up pictures of the planet.
· The world's longest suspension bridge in New York opens, The Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge (currently the longest in the US)
2024 will be a year of intense, much needed, transformation. It will be fast moving, with many twists and turns. It will have conflicts and challenges, and also great surprises, so expect the unexpected. Be creative and think outside the box. Have gratitude for the little things and be kind.
